The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gab Batista seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Batista throws a nice looking combination but Asashoryu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Asashoryu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Batista is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Asashoryu.
Batista throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Asashoryu counters with a flying knee that drops Batista! Asashoryu dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
