PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Major Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filip Mirkovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Filip Mirkovic was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller leaves Mirkovic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mirkovic clinches up with Miller and pushes him back against the cage.
Mirkovic lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Miller - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Still in the clinch, Mirkovic scores with a nice short uppercut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mirkovic, up you get!

Miller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mirkovic pinned against the cage. Mirkovic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mirkovic shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Miller eats them both and turns towards Mirkovic to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Miller wants to take the fight to the mat but Mirkovic manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Miller is working for takedown but Mirkovic is calmly controlling the position for now.
Miller is trying to drag Mirkovic to the mat but Mirkovic just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mirkovic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miller uses from the top position.

Miller decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miller is pressed up against the cage. Mirkovic has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mirkovic.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Miller dives in and grabs Mirkovic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mirkovic pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.
Filip Mirkovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mirkovic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Miller is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Miller jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mirkovic walks away with a smile on his face. Miller gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

It looks like Major Miller has been cut.
Miller takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mirkovic lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mirkovic.

Oh Miller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miller backs away from a small jab... but Mirkovic lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Miller crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Mirkovic with a spectacular finish!
