The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ector looks to land a right hand but Suzinuki moved out of range.
As Ector tries to get set, Suzinuki tries to push him back and clinch up but Ector manages to avoid the attempt.
Suzinuki moves out of range of the strikes.
Ector swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Suzinuki tried to counter with a leg kick but Ector avoided it.
Ector throws a body kick that misses.
Ector tries to land a front kick but Suzinuki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Suzinuki attempts a counter takedown but Ector avoids it well and moves away.
Ector tries to clinch but Suzinuki is having none of it.
Ector has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Suzinuki throws out a leg kick but Ector moves out of range and Suzinuki only half commits.
Suzinuki's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ector connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Suzinuki scrambles back to his feet.

and Ector connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ector walks into a jab.
Suzinuki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Lotus Suzinuki has been cut.
Suzinuki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ector's sensitive parts.
Suzinuki jabs Ector to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Suzinuki tries to work over Ector's front leg with a kick but Ector checks it.
Ector appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Suzinuki walks into a jab.

Ector closes the distance and pushes Suzinuki back into the cage.

Suzinuki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Ector breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kay Ector is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Suzinuki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ector's hands.
Suzinuki is looking to land body kicks.
Ector moves out of range of the leg kick from Suzinuki.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ector! But no joy.

Ector punishes Suzinuki's body with a nice straight punch.

Ector instigates a clinch.

Suzinuki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A bone on bone clash there as Ector blocks the leg kick.
Suzinuki on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ector connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ector throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Suzinuki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Suzinuki swings for the body but Ector moves out of range.

and Ector counters with a straight right hand.
Ector fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Suzinuki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ector lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Suzinuki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ector misses with a head kick.
Suzinuki is looking to score with low kicks.
Suzinuki lands with a shot to the body.
Nice cross by Ector.
Ector will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ector is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Suzinuki had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Suzinuki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ector.
Suzinuki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Suzinuki goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Suzinuki throws a body shot but no joy.
Suzinuki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Suzinuki takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Suzinuki gets tackled into the cage by Ector. Ector maintains the clinch.
Ector lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Suzinuki tries for a takedown but Ector manages to get underhooks.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Suzinuki struggles to land a body shot inside as Ector controls his hands.
Ector tries to circle away but Suzinuki has him pinned against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Ector feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Suzinuki sprawling to the canvas! Suzinuki rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ector finish him?!
Oh Suzinuki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ector tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
BOOM! Ector lands a beautiful left hook that drops Suzinuki. Suzinuki tries to recover but Ector is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Suzinuki lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
