Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tarik Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with the takedown
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Machado slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It seemed like Machado was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tarik Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Machado looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range.
Machado has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Machado napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Machado is defending well.
Machado is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Johnson is controlling him well.
Machado prevents Johnson from moving into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machado is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Johnson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Johnson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Machado looks calm but he's in trouble here. Johnson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Machado is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Johnson lets go of the hold and Machado can pop his arm back in it's socket.
