Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Avery Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magnus Sandberg!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sandberg rushes Austin and presses him up against the cage.

Austin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sandberg is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Austin to the mat. Austin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Austin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sandberg must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Austin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sandberg defends well.

Austin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sandberg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sandberg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Austin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Austin is looking for a triangle but Sandberg pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sandberg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Austin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sandberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Austin is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Sandberg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sandberg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Austin, pushing him back against the cage.

Sandberg connects with a knee to the head.
Sandberg misses with a knee strike.

Sandberg has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Austin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Austin is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Sandberg has the hooks in. Austin is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Austin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Sandberg looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Austin looking very determined here, making life difficult for Sandberg.

Austin rolls, trying to escape but Sandberg keeps control of the position.
Sandberg is trying to stick to Austin's back but Austin is turning into Sandberg. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sandberg's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Austin.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Austin looking to sit in guard and control but Sandberg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Magnus Sandberg dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sandberg rushes Austin and presses him up against the cage.

Sandberg breaks the clinch.

Sandberg has closed the distance and engaged Austin in a clinch.
Austin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Austin pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Austin is looking to control Sandberg's arms but Sandberg gets an underhook and turns him. Now Austin has his back to the cage.

Sandberg manages to break the clinch.
Avery Austin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sandberg gets caught napping as Austin dives in and scores a takedown. Sandberg manages to retain guard.
Austin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Austin wants to control from the top but Sandberg keeps moving.
Avery Austin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sandberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Austin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sandberg keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sandberg ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Sandberg tries to sprawl but Austin drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Austin has gone for a leg lock! Sandberg slips out almost immediately though and dives into Austin's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sandberg decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Austin, up you get!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Austin tries to clinch up.
Good work by Austin as he checks the leg kick.

Sandberg has closed the distance and engaged Austin in a clinch.

Austin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Avery Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Magnus Sandberg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Sandberg fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sandberg throws a leg kick which misses Austin's front leg but catches the back leg as Austin tries to avoid it.

Sandberg closes the distance and pushes Austin back into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sandberg has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Austin is trying to keep an underhook but Sandberg manages to get the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Magnus Sandberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sandberg scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Austin tries to stall but Sandberg uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sandberg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Austin has his foot on Sandberg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sandberg works his way back into a safe position though.

Sandberg wants to stand but Austin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Austin looking for a triangle here. Sandberg is fighting it but it looks tight! Austin pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sandberg is tapping out - this one is all over!
