The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bidon scores with a head kick. Joaquin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Joaquin shoots in for a double leg but Bidon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Joaquin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Joaquin wants to take a breather but Bidon is having none of it.
Joaquin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bidon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Joaquin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bidon!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bidon is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Joaquin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bidon has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Joaquin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Joaquin won't let Bidon get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

That was a close round but I would say that Zanchi Bidon will probably get the nod.

Joaquin closes the distance and clinches up with Bidon, looking for a takedown. Joaquin pushes Bidon against the cage but Bidon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
