Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bitterness Overload!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ben Hemmingworth and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overload moves into range and clinches up with Daniels.

Daniels ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Daniels no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Daniels has his hands on Overload's head, controlling the position.

Daniels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Overload is aware though and is defending well.
Overload trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Overload drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Overload jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Overload advances position into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels is looking for a sweep.

Overload is trying to get an arm triangle but Daniels is defending well.

Overload looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Overload in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Overload moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Overload thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Daniels stops Overload from passing to mount.

Overload should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Overload in side control, throwing shots but Daniels defends.
Daniels managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Overload.
Daniels tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Overload wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Overload wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Daniels, who protects the arm well.

Daniels is looking to reverse the position.

Overload thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Daniels can't do much from the bottom here.
Overload tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Daniels is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Overload looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Overload seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Daniels does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Overload wants to work for an arm triangle but Daniels is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Overload looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Overload is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Daniels defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bitterness Overload dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Daniels avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Overload closes the distance and pushes Daniels back into the cage.

Daniels is trying to trip Overload. He has hold of a leg but Overload is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Daniels persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Overload rushes Daniels and presses him up against the cage.

Daniels pulls guard successfully.
Overload tries to free his leg and advance position but Daniels is retaining full guard.
Overload has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Daniels is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Overload takes a knee to the side of the body.
Overload controlling the action here for a moment.

Daniels manages to break the clinch.

Daniels shoots in and gets a takedown into Overload's guard.
Daniels postures up.

Daniels slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Daniels wants to control from the top but Overload keeps moving.

Overload has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Daniels is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Overload.
Overload is looking for a sweep.

Daniels turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Daniels manages to end up in side control.
Overload is trying to get back to half guard.

Daniels wants to control the pace but Overload is squirming around nicely.

Overload tries to hold on but Daniels postures up.

Josh Daniels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Overload regains half guard.
Daniels wants to free his trapped foot but Overload is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Overload tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Daniels missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Daniels is trying to control the action in half guard but Overload is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Overload wants to control but Daniels is keeping busy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Daniels is keen to just control but Overload is a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Daniels blocks a low kick nicely.
Daniels lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Daniels fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Overload has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bitterness Overload has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Daniels lands a two punch combo.

And that's the end of the fight!
Josh Daniels showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Daniels has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
