Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Clawnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akeel Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clawnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Lynch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Clawnes rushes Lynch and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Clawnes swings wildly with an uppercut but Lynch uses good head movement to avoid it.

Clawnes keeps control of Lynch as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lynch tries to break free but Clawnes pushes him back against the cage.
Lynch goes for a takedown attempt but Clawnes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lynch wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Clawnes pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lynch is out of range and Clawnes settles back down.
And Lynch tries to counter it with a takedown but Clawnes pushes his down on his head and steps out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clawnes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Clawnes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Clawnes throws the kick towards the body but Lynch avoids it.
Lynch tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Thomas Clawnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clawnes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Clawnes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
My spies in Ballas Only inform me that Lynch has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Clawnes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lynch connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Clawnes scrambles back to his feet.
Clawnes throws a head kick but Lynch moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clawnes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Lynch drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Clawnes defends it well.
Clawnes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lynch can do to turn this around?

Clawnes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lynch eats them both and turns towards Clawnes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Lynch cracks Clawnes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Lynch breaks from the clinch.
Lynch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clawnes tries to avoid it but Lynch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clawnes to the ground. Clawnes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thomas Clawnes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
