PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Black Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voss has chosen Here comes the boom! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Black Coleman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Black Coleman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Voss!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman fails with a takedown attempt.
Coleman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Voss pinned against the cage. Voss gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Coleman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Voss is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Voss seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Coleman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Voss gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Voss throws a strike but Coleman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Voss is looking to control Coleman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Voss avoid being mounted?

Voss shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Coleman defends it nicely.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Voss stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Voss wants it to stay on the feet.
Voss tries to counter with a clinch but Coleman shakes him off and moves away.

Voss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Coleman uses from the top position.

Voss has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Coleman has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Voss tries to score a body lock takedown but Coleman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Voss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Coleman.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Black Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coleman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Voss!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Voss is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coleman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Voss parries the strikes from Coleman easily there. Coleman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Voss to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Voss tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coleman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Coleman wants to control but Voss is keeping him busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Scott Voss.
Well Voss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
