Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheif Keef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cheif Keef is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cheif Keef!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Daniels was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Keef wants to control but Daniels postures up.
Daniels working the ground and pound but Keef is defending the strikes.
Daniels scoring with punches from side control.
Keef is not content to let Daniels control the position.
Daniels postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Keef tries to escape but Daniels is in control.

Keef is trying to get back to half guard.
Keef gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Keef in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Daniels stands up from mount. Strange move.
Daniels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Keef's waist but Keef gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daniels off to one side.

Keef moves into the clinch successfully.

Keef escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Daniels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Keef is aware though and is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Daniels is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Keef is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Daniels tries for a takedown but Keef sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Keef counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Daniels!
Keef is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Josh Daniels will probably get the nod.
That's time! Daniels's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Daniels moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Keef shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Keef showed some decent athleticism there.
Cheif Keef has got the better of the ground game so far.

Keef tries to stand and escape but Daniels actually recovers to full guard.
Keef trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Keef must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Keef wants to control from the top but Daniels keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Daniels shoots in looking for a takedown. Keef tries to sprawl out of it but Daniels keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keef manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Daniels gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Daniels on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Keef doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Keef gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Daniels regains guard.
Daniels pulls Keef in close to his closed guard and prevents Keef from doing any damage or advancing position.

Daniels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Keef doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Keef manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Daniels shoots in looking for a takedown. Keef tries to sprawl out of it but Daniels keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keef manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Keef throws a big counter head kick but Daniels avoids it with no problem.
Daniels dives in and grabs Keef's left leg, looking for a takedown. Keef pushes down on Daniels's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Keef is defended easily by Daniels.
Keef is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Daniels pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Keef pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Keef throws a low kick but Daniels avoids it.
Daniels wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Daniels closes the distance and clinches up with Keef, looking for a takedown. Daniels pushes Keef against the cage but Keef circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Josh Daniels is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Daniels tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cheif Keef showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Keef closes this distance looking for a takedown but Daniels circles away.
Keef fails with an attempt to clinch.

Keef takes the fight into the clinch.
Daniels wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Daniels tries for a takedown but Keef manages to get underhooks.
Keef misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Keef turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Keef manages to end up in side control.

Keef is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Daniels knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Keef really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Keef shoots for a double leg takedown but Daniels sprawls well. He's pushed Keef's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Keef makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Keef cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keef stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daniels swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Daniels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Keef is aware though and is defending well.
Cheif Keef is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Keef is stalling in the full guard.

Cheif Keef comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Keef has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
