Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cinder Block (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Block has chosen Swamp Thing as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Block looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Block looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.

Block throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it.
Silva works Block's body with a nice hook.
Some bone on bone action there as Block checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Silva tries to clinch but Block is having none of it.
Block flicks out a counter leg kick but Silva steps away.

Block thuds his shin into the meat of Silva's side.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Block ducks down to avoid it.
Block misses with a leg kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Silva misses the target.
Block feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down.
Block throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Silva was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Block.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Block circles away quickly and effectively.

Block tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva fires out a quick counter leg kick but Block just manages to avoid it.
Silva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Block finds it's way round the side to connect with Silva's head.
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Block throws a fast counter high kick but Silva manages to duck under it in time.
Silva is looking to clinch.
Block looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Block misses with a leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Silva, as that shot connected.

Silva stuns Block with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Block throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side.

Silva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Block stalling against the cage.
Block on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Block takes a knee to the side of the body.
Block looks winded!
Block's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Silva tries to land a knee to the head but Block blocks with his arms.
Silva throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Blocks head.
Our sources have told us that Silva has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Silva is leaning against Block and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Silva lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silva scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Silva finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Block pushes him off.
Block flicks out a counter leg kick but Silva steps away.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Block.

Silva pushes Block up against the cage in a clinch.
Block wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Silva digs a right hand into Block's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Block's gas tank.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Block keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva pushes Block up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Silva misses with some punches.

Block blocks an uppercut.
Silva throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Block is breathing heavily.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Silva.
Silva works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Block seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Block swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva tries to clinch up but Block circles away and keeps his distance.
It seemed like Block was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Block gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Silva gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Block is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Wanderlei Silva really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that 155q/145q Recovery, 140 Bulk/Stam logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
