The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takasugi shoots in for a takedown but Swann shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've been informed that Swann has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Swann.

Swann lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Swann rushes Takasugi and presses him up against the cage.
Swann lands a body shot in the clinch.

Swann breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've been hearing reports that Takasugi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Takasugi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Swann instigates a clinch.

Swann lands a hook that snaps the head of Takasugi backwards.

Swann's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Swann connects with a high kick.
Takasugi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Swann.
A combination from Swann does no damage.
Swann lands with a nice body punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Takasugi. Swann does a little dance to reset his feet.
Good leg kick by Swann there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Swann throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Takasugi half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Swann has closed the distance and engaged Takasugi in a clinch.

Swann pushes Takasugi back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Takasugi tries to land knees in the clinch but Swann avoids the damage to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Swann.
Takasugi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Swann walks away with a smile on his face. Takasugi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Swann scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takasugi doesn't seem bothered though.

Swann lands a big head kick that sends Takasugi tumbling to the mat! Swann takes a step backwards and waves Takasugi back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Takasugi is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Swann knocks Takasugi out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
