Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Hyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Zigler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Hyde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Zigler!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyde tries for a takedown but Zigler circles away easily
and Zigler counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hyde thinking.

Zigler closes the distance and clinches.
Hyde is looking for a takedown.
Hyde wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Zigler obliges.
Hyde is trying to pull guard but Zigler has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Hyde. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zigler manages to pull guard.
Hyde prevents Zigler from getting back to his feet.
Hyde working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zigler seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hyde throwing strikes but missing.
Zigler pulls Hyde in close to prevent any damage.
Hyde missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Zigler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Zigler clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Zigler has picked Hyde up - he's going for a ride! Zigler dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hyde blocking the ground and pound attempt from Zigler.
Zigler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hyde keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hyde is looking to control Zigler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hyde avoid being mounted?
Hyde wants to improve his position but Zigler is controlling well.
Zigler works his foot free and advances to mount.
Zigler looking to finish with strikes here!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hyde wants to hold on but Zigler pushes him away.
Zigler thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hyde tries to buck Zigler off but he can't manage it.
Zigler thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zigler tries to control but Hyde wriggling away.
Zigler thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Zigler looking to ground and pound but Hyde is blocking nicely.
Zigler thowing shots but they're missing.
Zigler throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hyde because Zigler loaded up on that one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Zigler unloads with some shots from mount but Hyde bucks and avoids them well.
Hyde wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zigler.
Zigler trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zach Zigler dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Zigler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Zigler trying to control the position from guard on top but Hyde is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hyde is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zigler wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
Hyde keeping full guard, as Zigler tries to pass.

Zigler works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hyde wants to improve his position but Zigler is controlling well.
Hyde is looking to control Zigler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hyde avoid being mounted?
Hyde is not content to let Zigler control the position.
Zigler is looking to stall here but Hyde recovers full guard.

Zigler throws a sloppy strike and Hyde has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Zigler is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Hyde!
