PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eusebio Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danger Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eusebio Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danger Duck!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duck closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Duck is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Duck is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Peterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Peterson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Peterson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duck doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duck manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Peterson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duck stands up from Peterson's guard - Duck perhaps looking for a knockout.

Duck fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Peterson to the ground. Duck is now in Peterson's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duck accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Duck gets to his feet. Peterson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Duck scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Duck landing strikes.
Peterson tries to escape but Duck is in control.
Sloppy strikes there by Duck.

Duck decides to stand up, so the ref orders Peterson to his feet.

Duck closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Peterson to the mat! Peterson manages to get full guard.

Peterson is rocked!
Duck postures up in Peterson's guard and throws a big left but Peterson blocks it.
Duck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Peterson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Peterson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Duck controls the pace.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Duck passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Duck decides to stand up, so the ref orders Peterson to his feet.

Peterson gets caught flat footed, as Duck shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Oh Peterson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Duck throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duck throws a big right hand that misses.
Peterson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Duck loads up on a big left hand. Peterson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Duck looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Peterson can't hide his disappointment, as Duck celebrates the victory.
