PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sead Macak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuo Tsubasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sead Macak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Katsuo Tsubasa!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tsubasa swivels and escapes.
Nice body kick there by Tsubasa.
Tsubasa lands a jab.
Tsubasa scores with a crisp jab that stopped Macak in his tracks.
Tsubasa's jab looks to have found its range, popping Macak under the eye.
Macak has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tsubasa.
Tsubasa throws an off balance right hand
and Macak counters with a one-two to the body.
Macak misses with a takedown attempt - Tsubasa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Macak tries to clinch up but Tsubasa circles away and keeps his distance.
A jab from Tsubasa finds it's way through Macak's defenses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Macak avoids the body shot from Tsubasa.
Macak moves out of range as Tsubasa throws a body kick.
Macak defending well as Tsubasa loads up on a big left hand.

Macak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tsubasa swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sead Macak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Macak moves out of range of the strikes.
Macak looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tsubasa is fending him off so far but Macak persists. Nope, Tsubasa circles away and we're back to standing.
A little jabbing left from Tsubasa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Macak closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tsubasa to the mat! Tsubasa manages to get full guard.
Macak is breathing heavily.
Tsubasa is pulling down on Macak's head to control his posture.

Tsubasa tries to get to full guard but Macak has control of the leg.

Macak content to control rather than advance.
Tsubasa holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Macak takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tsubasa is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tsubasa cracks Macak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Macak moves out of range of the strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Macak.
Crunch! Tsubasa slams his shin into Macak's torso.
The fighters circling - Tsubasa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tsubasa throws a wild body kick that Macak sees coming a mile off.
Macak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tsubasa tries to avoid it but Macak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tsubasa to the ground. Tsubasa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Macak takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Tsubasa lands a jab to the nose.
Macak takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Tsubasa misses the jab.
Macak moves out of range of the strikes.
A punch combination from Tsubasa misses.

Macak takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tsubasa throws a hook but Macak blocks it.
Macak shoots in for a double leg but Tsubasa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tsubasa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tsubasa lands a leg kick that knocks Macak off balance momentarily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Tsubasa.
Macak takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tsubasa thows a body kick. Macak tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Tsubasa is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Macak had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Macak on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Tsubasa lands a two punch combo.
Macak gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Tsubasa should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tsubasa misses with a hook.
Macak has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Macak there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Katsuo Tsubasa dominated that round.

Macak fires out a quick counter leg kick but Tsubasa just manages to avoid it.
Macak shoots for a takedown but Tsubasa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Macak shoots for a double leg takedown but Tsubasa sprawls well. He's pushed Macak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tsubasa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Macak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Tsubasa wants to improve his position but Macak is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macak is keen to just control but Tsubasa is a slippery customer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tsubasa is positioning himself well to prevent Macak advancing to mount.

Tsubasa is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Macak jumps into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macak gets to mount! Tsubasa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Tsubasa is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Tsubasa throws a hook but Macak avoids it easily.

Macak with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Tsubasa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Macak wants to control the pace but Tsubasa is squirming around nicely.

Macak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tsubasa is looking to escape.
Macak is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tsubasa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tsubasa tries to lock up and control but Macak gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Macak lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Tsubasa tries to improve his position but Macak has taken his back! Macak has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Tsubasa tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Macak pushes Tsubasa away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sead Macak!
