Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diggler has chosen YO GOTTI - SOMEBODY WATCHIN ME as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Diggler!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Diggler walks into a stiff left hand from Charles.
Charles checks the leg kick nicely there.
Diggler scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like David Charles has been cut.

Charles moves into the clinch successfully.
The referee calls for Diggler to work.
Charles pushes Diggler back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Diggler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Diggler walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A head kick misses from Charles.
David Charles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charles lands a head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diggler walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Charles checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Charles shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diggler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Charles wants to control from the top but Diggler keeps moving.
Charles wants to pass the guard but Diggler is keeping the position.

Diggler wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Diggler is pulling down on Charles's head. It's preventing any offense from Charles, at least for the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dirk Diggler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Diggler tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Charles is able to avoid easily.
Charles throws a one two combo.
Charles throws a series of punches but Diggler moves out of range.
Diggler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Charles has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Diggler avoids a punch combination nicely.

Diggler throws a nice looking combination but Charles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Charles throws a right and a left that Diggler avoids nicely.
Charles fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Diggler throws a sloppy head kick and Charles moves out of range easily.
Diggler misses with a straight right.
Charles appears to be looking for a big counter.
Diggler dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Charles. That did some damage!
Charles lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Charles looks to score with a jab to the body but Diggler is just out of range.
Diggler throws a leg kick but Charles moved away.
Charles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Diggler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A little jabbing left from Diggler on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Diggler tries to score with a low kick but Charles moves his leg out of the way.

Charles is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Diggler's half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Charles content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Charles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Charles shoots for a takedown but Diggler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Charles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diggler.
Charles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diggler as he avoids it easily.
Diggler takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Charles misses with a combination
and Diggler counters with a low kick, right behind Charles 's knee.
Diggler throws a head kick but Charles moves out of range.
It looked like Charles wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Charles fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diggler avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
David Charles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Diggler takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Diggler connects with a solid leg kick.
Diggler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diggler feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Charless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Charles manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diggler on his heels. He'll look to pass Diggler's guard now, I'm sure.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Charles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Charles thuds a left hand into Diggler's body.
Charles takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Charles checks a leg kick.
Charles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Charles tests Diggler's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Diggler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A big left from Diggler misses.
Charles went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Charles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diggler.

Charles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Charles is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Diggler's shoulder. That is not cool.

Charles works the jab nicely.
Good leg kick by Charles there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Charles checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Diggler throws a fast counter high kick but Charles manages to duck under it in time.

Diggler appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Charles lands a nice looking body shot.
Charles misses with a series of wild punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Charles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Diggler throws a hook but Charles blocks it.
Charles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diggler was well out of range. Poor timing from Charles.

It seemed like Diggler was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A combination from Charles does no damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
David Charles showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Charles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
