PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Savage Hulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis comes to the cage accompanied by Coward - Black Light Burns. Hulk has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Savage Hulk!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis fails with a takedown attempt.
Lewis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hulk pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lewis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hulk's half guard.
Hulk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lewis is looking for a kimura but Hulk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hulk is trying to maintain the position but Lewis is very close to passing his half guard.
Lewis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis thows a huge punch but Hulk dodges it nicely.
Lewis performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Lewis is working for a submission of some sort.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

Lewis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hulk sees it coming and defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hulk wants to get back to full guard.

Lewis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hulk won't allow Lewis to pass to mount.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hulk keeps working.

Lewis stands up from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lewis moves into the clinch.

Lewis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lewis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lewis has control of Hulk's left arm, preventing Hulk from doing any damage.
Lewis continues to stall.
Lewis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hulk trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.
Hulk must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lewis has control of Hulk's left arm, preventing Hulk from doing any damage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hulk tries to stand but Lewis is controlling from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Lewis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hulk is defending against the submission attempts here by Lewis.
We've been hearing that Lewis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Lewis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis is working for a kimura but Hulk is defending it quite comfortably.
Lewis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hulk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lewis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lewis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hulk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lewis.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lewis is looking for a kimura here.

Lewis seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hulk is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ryan Lewis!
After winning the bout, Ryan Lewis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
