The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn throws a quick inside leg kick.

Alves throws a series of punches but Gunn avoids them all with ease.
Gunn has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Alves lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Alves.
Alves looks to land a combination but Gunn avoids it well.

Alves darts in looking for a takedown but Gunn gets double underhooks and turns Alves into the cage.

Tommie Gunn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves throws a looping overhand right but Gunn ducks down to avoid it.
Alves missing with a left hand there. Gunn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gunn scores with the left hand. Alves knows he should have avoided that one.
Freddy Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gunn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alves throws out the jab.

Gunn wants to counter with a clinch but Alves pushes him away.
Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Alves tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gunn is able to avoid easily.
Gunn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Alves's head.
Alves takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice defenses there by Alves.
Alves shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gunn eats them both and turns towards Alves to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Alves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alves is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Gunn's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Alves feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gunns jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A right-left combo lands from Gunn.

Alves is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommie Gunn dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alves walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Gunn swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
