PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moshe Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Maxwell enables Adamek to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maxwell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Maxwell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Adamek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Adamek looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maxwell wants to get back to full guard.
Adamek thows a huge punch but Maxwell dodges it nicely.
Adamek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maxwell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Maxwell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Maxwell is working an open guard so Adamek takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Maxwell tries to close the distance and clinch but Adamek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Adamek throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Moshe Maxwell has been cut.
Adamek misses with a few strikes there.

Maxwell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Adamek forces his way into half guard.
Adamek is stalling here. Maxwell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Adamek seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Maxwell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Adamek tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Maxwell presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Adamek is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Adamek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Maxwell is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Adamek has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Maxwell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Adamek defends well and Maxwell ends up having to push Adamek into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Adamek works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Adamek decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Adamek throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maxwell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Adamek is in Maxwell's guard.
Adamek has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Adamek is looking to take a break and control but Maxwell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Adamek looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maxwell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Adamek has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Maxwell defend it? Adamek steps over the head and cranks it - Maxwell is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Adamek!
