Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damian Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damian Casey had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Damian Casey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Rex!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey shoots in and drives through. Rex sprawls well.
Rex throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Casey.
Nice sprawl there from Casey as Rex shoots in.

Casey manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rex on his heels. He'll look to pass Rex's guard now, I'm sure.

Casey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rex has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Casey has managed to get both his arms back between Rex's legs - danger averted.
Casey is fighting to break Rex's control of his arms but Rex is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Casey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rex darts in and clinches Casey up against the cage.
Casey is trying to pull guard but Rex turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Casey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rex fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That was a close round but I would say that Damian Casey will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rex misses with a hook. Casey ducked under it nicely.
Rex shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Casey as he jumps to the side.

Casey is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rex presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Rex keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Casey in particular looking to stall.

Casey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rex defends well and Casey ends up having to push Rex into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rex changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rex leaves Casey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And Rex tries to counter it with a takedown but Casey pushes his down on his head and steps out.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Casey is defended easily by Rex.

Casey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rex is trying to defend but Casey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rex has a hand on Casey's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Casey takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Casey won't let Rex get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rex can't escape the position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
