The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davison drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davison stands up over Overeem, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Davison content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davison is taking a breather. Overeem says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Overeem is trying to stand back up but Davison is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Overeem gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davison winds up and cracks Overeem with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Overeem is rocked!
Davison lands a big elbow - Overeem is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Davison!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Davison!
Chris Davison decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Alistair Overeem was interviewed post fight and said 'I would just like to thank all my fans , my coaches , my sponsers and i'm sure i'l bevback stronger and hungrier than ever '.
