Firkragg comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wake Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jhon Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jierdan Firkragg!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Firkragg scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sullivan. Firkragg does a little dance to reset his feet.
Firkragg gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sullivan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Firkragg misses with a hook.
Sullivan swings widly with a right hand

and Firkragg counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Firkragg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sullivan is keeping the position for now.
Firkragg content to stall in guard here.
Firkragg passes Sullivan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Sullivan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Firkragg is working for a kimura but Sullivan is defending it quite comfortably.
Firkragg looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Firkragg tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sullivan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Firkragg is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sullivan has managed to free his arm - good work.

Firkragg is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sullivan is just riding it out for now. Firkragg eventually gives up the hold.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Firkragg looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Firkragg looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Firkragg works his foot free and advances to mount.
Firkragg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Firkragg looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jierdan Firkragg dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Firkragg avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Firkragg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sullivan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Firkragg in side control, just content to control the action for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Firkragg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sullivan, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Firkragg moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Firkragg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Firkragg is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Firkragg has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Firkragg's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Firkragg has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Sullivan!

Jierdan Firkragg has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sullivan has given up his back. Will we see Firkragg going for some submissions?
I really don't envy Sullivan right now.
Firkragg biding his time, controlling Sullivan.

Firkragg has his arm under Sullivan's chin here. Game over son! Firkragg squeezes tightly and Sullivan is forced to tap out!
