Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eli Armis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfredo Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armis's entrance music is Mortal Kombat Theme. A fine choice. Alfredo Torres has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Eli Armis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eli Armis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfredo Torres!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armis looks for a takedown but Torres sprawls well.
Armis ducks under a wild hook from Torres.
Armis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Armis looks to score with a jab to the body but Torres is just out of range.
Torres smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Torres drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Armis has a closed guard, preventing Torres from standing up.

Armis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torres actively working from the bottom here.
Torres wants to improve his position but Armis is controlling well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Armis lands a nice short elbow.

Armis is looking for a kimura here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Armis trying to mount his opponent but Torres defends it.

Torres looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Armis is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Torres reverses the position - he's now on top in Armis's guard.
Torres wants to get up but he can't break Armis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alfredo Torres will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Armis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Torres moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Armis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Armis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Armis closes the distance and clinches up with Torres, looking for a takedown. Armis pushes Torres against the cage but Torres circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Armis attempts a counter takedown but Torres avoids it well and moves away.
Torres thumps Armis with a low kick.
Armis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Torres.

Torres cracks a nice hook into Armis's ribs.

Torres closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Torres lands in his opponent's guard.

Torres has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Armis is proving hard to escape from.
Armis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Armis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Torres defends well.
Torres is looking to stand up but Armis won't let him.

Torres throws a good cross that connects.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Armis tests Torres's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Torres doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Armis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Armis looks to throw the jab but Torres is out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Torres.
Torres lands with a right hand.

Alfredo Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Torres.
Armis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Torres is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Armis.

It looked like Armis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Torres has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Alfredo Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Armis swings for the body but Torres moves out of range.
Torres ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Armis moves away.
Good leg kick by Torres there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A cross from Armis lands.
Torres swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Torres decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Armis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Armis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Torres eats them both and turns towards Armis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Armis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Well Torres has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
