Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, ZyD XyD!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Renato Laranja!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
XyD fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Laranja is out of range.
XyD jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A slapping body kick lands there for XyD.
Laranja moves out of range of the body kick.
Good standup being displayed there by XyD as he connects with a hook.
XyD leaves Laranja with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
XyD changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
XyD misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
XyD misses with an uppercut.
XyD throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Laranja shoots in but no luck this time.
Laranja fails with a takedown attempt.
ZyD XyD has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Laranja.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Laranja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. XyD tries to avoid it but Laranja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag XyD to the ground. XyD escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
XyD's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
XyD jabs at Laranja's body.
Laranja doesn't succeed with the takedown
and XyD counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
XyD is looking to land body kicks.
XyD swings for the body but Laranja moves out of range.

No luck for Laranja with that takedown attempt.
XyD throwing a counter right hand but Laranja manages to avoid it.
XyD looks to score with a jab to the body but Laranja is just out of range.
Laranja closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Laranja.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laranja has hold of XyD's arm. He's looking for a kimura. XyD seems comfortable defending it but Laranja has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! XyD is real pain and he's forced to tap out! XyD is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Laranja couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Renato Laranja!

Post fight, an emotional Renato Laranja said 'BruHA! Anotha belt! I shall add to my collection'.
