PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Kross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grzegorz Rakieta Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kross comes to the cage accompanied by Everyday Normal Guy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Kross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grzegorz Rakieta Jr!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kross looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rakieta Jr moves out of range as Kross throws a body kick.

Kross tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Rakieta Jr lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Kross bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rakieta Jr's head.
Kross throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rakieta Jr is looking to chop away at Kross's legs.
Rakieta Jr connects with a body shot that sends Kross's belly button to the back.
Rakieta Jr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kross moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grzegorz Rakieta Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rakieta Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kross throws a strike aimed at the side of Rakieta Jr's head but Rakieta Jr avoids it well.
Kross misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've been hearing good reports from Kross's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Kris Kross will probably get the nod.

and Kross decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rakieta Jr's guard.
Rakieta Jr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kross lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Kross throws an elbow that misses. Rakieta Jr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kross's guard. Nice move by Rakieta Jr!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rakieta Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kross has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rakieta Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Kross's legs - danger averted.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Grzegorz Rakieta Jr.
I think Kross has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
