Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marlin Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Crush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sid Crush has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marlin Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sid Crush!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crush scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Oooh a lovely combination from Crush sends Ray down but not out. Crush dives into side control looking to finish.


Ray is rocked!


It looks like Marlin Ray has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ray struggling a bit here.
Ray holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Ray gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ray is trying is best to control the position here.
Crush thows a huge punch but Ray dodges it nicely.
Ray gets full guard.
Crush throwing strikes from guard but Ray blocks nicely.
Ray lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crush can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ray really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Crush bucks up and tries to throw Ray off but instead Ray has got his back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ray is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Ray gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Ray gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Ray apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Ray closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Crush is trying to stand up here but Ray is controlling him well.

Ray seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crush lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ray circles away quickly and effectively.
Ray seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Crush throws a head kick that misses.
Crush throws a sloppy head kick and Ray moves out of range easily.
Marlin Ray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sid Crush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crush bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ray wants to control but Crush postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crush got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ray has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crush has managed to get both his arms back between Ray's legs - danger averted.
Crush must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Crush really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ray stands up over Crush, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Crush tries to close the distance and clinch but Ray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Crush scores with a one two! Ray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Crush fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Crush has Ray up against the cage in a clinch.
Ray lands a body shot in the clinch.
Ray struggles to land a body shot inside as Crush controls his hands.
Crush wants to break the clinch but can't.
Crush prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ray tries for a takedown but Crush manages to get underhooks.

Ray manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Ray seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Ray escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ray decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Crush, up you get!

Crush fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ray to the ground. Crush is now in Ray's guard.
Crush takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ray pulls Crush in close to prevent any damage.
Ray has a closed guard, preventing Crush from standing up.

Ray escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ray holds on and takes a little breather.
Crush is looking to work some ground and pound but Ray has wrist control.

Ray has his feet on Crush's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Ray clinches.

Ray tightens his grip and picks Crush up, before dumping him to the ground. Crush manages to land in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ray's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Marlin Ray overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Crush is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ray dives into side control.
Crush trying to control but Ray flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Crush is trying to get back to his feet but Ray has full control of the position and if anything, Crush has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Crush trying to control the hands but Ray breaks the grip.
Sid Crush has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Crush is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ray, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
