PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tappy Gilmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Taslim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taslim comes into a darkened arena with his song building. La Coka Nostra - "Mind Your Business" kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John Taslim is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tappy Gilmore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Taslim!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilmore slaps away a takedown attempt from Taslim, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gilmore closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Taslim to the mat! Taslim manages to get full guard.
Taslim is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gilmore is controlling him.
Taslim looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Taslim looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gilmore puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Gilmore trying to control the action but Taslim is working from the bottom.
Taslim is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taslim trying to hold on to Gilmore's head to control him but Gilmore postures up.
Gilmore uses his free foot to push down on Taslim's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Taslim.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gilmore trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Taslim tries to improve his position but instead Gilmore has taken his back!
I would not like to be Taslim right now.
Taslim tries to escape but Gilmore has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Taslim has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Gilmore just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Gilmore is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Taslim has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gilmore has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Taslim taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gilmore doesn't care though - he's delighted!
