Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Otto Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jenkins Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Jenkins Jr looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Jenkins Jr!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Peterson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peterson is on top in guard.

Jenkins Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet Jenkins Jr, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peterson stands up over Jenkins Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Peterson tries to keep at a distance but Jenkins Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Peterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jenkins Jr closes the distance and clinches.

Jenkins Jr lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jenkins Jr wants to take a breather but Peterson is having none of it.
Peterson is looking to escape.

Peterson is looking for a sweep. Jenkins Jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Peterson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Jenkins Jr darts in and clinches Peterson up against the cage.
Peterson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Peterson manages to break the clinch.
Jenkins Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jenkins Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Peterson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Peterson is pushing Jenkins Jr's head away, looking to escape. Jenkins Jr manages to hold on to the position though.

Peterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Peterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Otto Peterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Peterson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Peterson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Peterson struggles to land a body shot inside as Jenkins Jr controls his hands.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jenkins Jr feints and as Peterson raises his hands in defense, Jenkins Jr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Peterson wants to stand up but Jenkins Jr is controlling him.

Peterson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jenkins Jr manages to get himself to full guard.


Peterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Peterson postures up in Jenkins Jr's guard and throws a big left but Jenkins Jr blocks it.

Peterson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jenkins Jr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Peterson has Jenkins Jr in his guard.

Peterson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jenkins Jr is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Peterson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Jenkins Jr throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Peterson's body to avoid the submission. Peterson has instead reached around Jenkins Jr's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Peterson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
