Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alpo Suhonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santeri Sikaniska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suhonen comes to the cage accompanied by Gers Pardoel - Ik Neem Je Mee . Sikaniska has chosen 2 Brothers on the 4th floor - Fairytales as his entrance music. Alpo Suhonen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alpo Suhonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Santeri Sikaniska!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suhonen takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Suhonen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sikaniska is trying to buck Suhonen off.

Suhonen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sikaniska has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Suhonen but great work by Sikaniska.
Suhonen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Suhonen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Sikaniska postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Suhonen to stand up.
Suhonen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sikaniska enables Suhonen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sikaniska manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sikaniska is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Suhonen is controlling him.
Suhonen wants to control from the top but Sikaniska keeps moving.
Suhonen wants to pass the guard but Sikaniska is keeping the position.
Suhonen stops Sikaniska from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suhonen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Suhonen misses with a takedown attempt
and Sikaniska cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Alpo Suhonen has been cut.

Suhonen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sikaniska, pushing him back against the cage.

Suhonen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sikaniska is trying to keep an underhook but Suhonen manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Suhonen prevents Sikaniska from standing back up.
Suhonen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Suhonen is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Suhonen wants to free his trapped foot but Sikaniska is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Suhonen is trying to control. Sikaniska wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sikaniska wants to get back to his feet.

Suhonen wants to work for an arm triangle but Sikaniska is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sikaniska is not content to let Suhonen control the position.
Sikaniska is trying to stand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Suhonen misses with a takedown
and Sikaniska counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alpo Suhonen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sikaniska won't allow Suhonen to pass to mount.

Suhonen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Suhonen is defended easily by Sikaniska.
Sikaniska wants to counter the offense by Suhonen and move into the clinch position.
Alpo Suhonen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Suhonen fails with the takedown
and Sikaniska connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Suhonen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sikaniska as he jumps to the side.
Sikaniska wants to counter with a clinch but Suhonen pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alpo Suhonen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suhonen misses with a body punch

and Sikaniska lands a stunning uppercut that sends Suhonen to the mat!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Suhonen wants to control but Sikaniska is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've been hearing good reports from Suhonen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suhonen wants to control but Sikaniska is keeping busy and won't allow it.
It looks like Sikaniska is going to stand back up.
Suhonen is trying to control but can't.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sikaniska seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sikaniska walks into a left hand.
Suhonen lands a jab to Sikaniska's midsection.

Sikaniska cracks Suhonen with an open hand slap.
Suhonen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sikaniska sprawls well. Sikaniska wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Suhonen gets slowly back to his feet.
Suhonen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sikaniska swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Suhonen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sikaniska tries to counter with a clinch but Suhonen shakes him off and moves away.
Suhonen goes for a double leg but Sikaniska avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sikaniska continues to drive forward.
Suhonen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sikaniska avoids it really well and circles away.
Sikaniska lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Suhonen has his takedown stuffed
and Sikaniska counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Suhonen has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Santeri Sikaniska!
A very excited looking Santeri Sikaniska rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
