Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Giovani Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tired and clearly flustered, he entered the arena late and after a little discussion it was decided that the bout should take place.
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Giovani Castro and Dan Price. Price has chosen Black Label Society - Bleed for Me as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Giovani Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Price!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Price scoring well with a low kick there.
Price uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Castro.
Price swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Price lands with a nice body punch.
Castro throws a poor cross that misses
and Price counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Castro throws an overhand right that lands on Price's shoulder, as Price tries to avoid the shot.
Castro fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Price is out of range.

Price has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Castro is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Castro drops his hands momentarily and Price takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looked like Castro wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Castro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Price connects with a body shot that sends Castro's belly button to the back.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Castro.
Castro takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Price throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Castro was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Price connects with a solid leg kick.
Castro throws a solid leg kick but Price takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Castro.
Price wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd cheers as Castro lands an impressive looking overhand right. Price doesn't seem phased though.

Castro avoids the body shot from Price.
Castro punishes Price's body with a nice straight punch.
Castro misses with a hook. Price ducked under it nicely.

Castro tries to clinch up but Price circles away and keeps his distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Price stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Castro.
Price bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Castro counters with a head kick. That will keep Price thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Giovani Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Price counters with a nice uppercut.
Price throws a series of strikes that have Castro backpedaling.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Castro lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Price has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Price and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Castro swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Price dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Price tries to land a front kick but Castro steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Price keeps the fight on the outside.

A slow jab from Price misses its intended target.
Castro looks to land a combination but Price avoids it well.
Price looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Price scores with a sloppy right hand. Castro should have avoided that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Price counters with a crisp one two that drops Castro! Price thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Castro to his feet! Castro is in big trouble!

Price blocks a jab.
Price unleashes a big counter combination but Castro bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Oh Castro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dan Price seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Castro misses with a hook
and Price counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Price chopping away at his opponent's legs.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Castro might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Castro walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Price checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Castro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Price catches Castro with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Castro forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dan Price!
Our winner, Dan Price, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
