Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonnie Boardwalk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phrisbee OReiley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OReiley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Shoot To Thrill. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonnie Boardwalk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Phrisbee OReiley!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OReiley fails to land the takedown.
A quick step to the side and Boardwalk tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
OReiley closes the distance and clinches up with Boardwalk, looking for a takedown. OReiley pushes Boardwalk against the cage but Boardwalk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boardwalk was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Phrisbee OReiley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
OReiley tries to clinch up
and Boardwalk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
OReiley goes for a takedown attempt but Boardwalk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jonnie Boardwalk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phrisbee OReiley.

OReiley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
OReiley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boardwalk tries to avoid it but OReiley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boardwalk to the ground. Boardwalk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
OReiley tries to clinch but Boardwalk moves away
and Boardwalk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps OReiley thinking.
Boardwalk slaps away a takedown attempt from OReiley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boardwalk was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
OReiley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boardwalk circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Boardwalk on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Boardwalk leaves OReiley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Boardwalk seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
OReiley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boardwalk swats him away and circles back towards the center.

OReiley closes the distance and pushes Boardwalk back into the cage.

OReiley gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

OReiley has gone for a leg lock! Boardwalk slips out almost immediately though and dives into OReiley's guard.

Boardwalk drops back looking for a leg! OReiley is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and OReiley manages to kick Boardwalk off! Boardwalk jumps back into OReiley's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boardwalk forces his way into half guard.

Boardwalk is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, OReiley has managed to free his arm - good work.
OReiley is staying active underneath Boardwalk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
OReiley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

OReiley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boardwalk's waist but Boardwalk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing OReiley off to one side.

OReiley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Boardwalk.
OReiley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Boardwalk just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jonnie Boardwalk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phrisbee OReiley.

OReiley has Boardwalk pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. OReiley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boardwalk tumbling to the mat - OReiley dives into Boardwalk's guard.
OReiley wants to control from the top but Boardwalk keeps moving.

Boardwalk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boardwalk looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
OReiley is not content to let Boardwalk control the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Boardwalk's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Boardwalk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that OReiley can do to turn this around?

Boardwalk looks up at the clock and then as OReiley takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Boardwalk smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
