Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjalti Eyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Bernstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eyj comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Sexy and I Know It. Eli Bernstein told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Bernstein!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eyj drives through with a takedown into Bernstein's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Eyj wants to control from the top but Bernstein keeps moving.
Bernstein wants to control but Eyj passes easily into half guard.
Bernstein trying to control here.
Eyj is looking to advance position but Bernstein won't allow it.
Bernstein is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Eyj is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bernstein has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bernstein is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bernstein moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Eyj trying to control the position from guard on top but Bernstein is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bernstein wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Eyj is now in half guard.
Eyj tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bernstein knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Eyj looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bernstein is trying to maintain the position but Eyj is very close to passing his half guard.

Eyj is pressing down on Bernstein's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bernstein is holding on for now.
Bernstein is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Eyj's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Eyj's back!
Eyj rolls, trying to escape but Bernstein keeps control of the position.
Bernstein lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Eyj.
Eyj rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Eyj tries to roll over but Bernstein keeps him under control.

Bernstein looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bernstein looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eyj looking for submissions off his back.
Eyj trying to hold on to Bernstein's head to control him but Bernstein postures up.
Bernstein not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bernstein seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bernstein shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Eyj manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Eyj has got his arm under Bernstein's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Bernstein has spun round into Eyj's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

You can see the frustration on Bernstein's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bernstein is not content to let Eyj control the position.
Eyj is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bernstein is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Eyj is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bernstein knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Eyj is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Eyj is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Eyj has his foot on Bernstein's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bernstein works his way back into a safe position though.

Bernstein slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

I would just about give that final round to Eli Bernstein.
I think Bernstein has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Eli Bernstein tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
