Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Contreras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viva Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Viva Marquez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marquez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Contreras sprawls well initially but Marquez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Marquez wants to work for an arm triangle but Contreras is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Marquez has Contreras pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Marquez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Contreras tumbling to the mat - Marquez dives into Contreras's guard.

Marquez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
