PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Mistique (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Minny Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kid has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mistique circles away quickly and effectively.
Mistique shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kid tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mistique tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A left and a right from Mistique both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Minny Kid has been cut.
Mistique dives in and grabs Kid's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kid pushes down on Mistique's head and hops out.
Mistique misses with the combination.
Mistique doesn't manage to clinch there - Kid circles away.
Mistique stuffs the takedown attempt from Kid. Kid gets slowly back to his feet.
Kid looks winded!
Kid shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mistique pinned against the cage. Mistique gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mistique swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Kid. No joy for Mistique on that attempt.
Mistique connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kid. Kid circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Mistique darts in and clinches Kid up against the cage.
Mistique scores with a nice hook to the head.

Mistique lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kid backwards.

Mistique creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Mistique has a couple of punches blocked by Kid.

Mistique tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Kid is trying to drag Mistique to the mat but Mistique just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
George Mistique has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Minny Kid.

Mistique looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Kid dodges an elbow strike from Mistique.
Mistique goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kid prevents it.

Kid is trying to force a seperation but Mistique has the dominant position.

Mistique drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mistique.
Mistique lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kid blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kid stops a takedown attempt from Mistique.
Kid blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Mistique using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kid has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Mistique avoiding damage as Kid throws knees to the body.

Kid turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kid manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kid advances to mount.
Kid can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mistique is looking to escape.

Mistique slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Mistique knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kid on the ground.
Mistique wants to control the action here but instead Kid manages to pass to full mount!

Mistique is just holding on here. Kid manages to take his back.

Kid is hanging on to Mistique's back as he tries to escape.
Mistique is working hard here to advance position.
Kid slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mistique wants to control his opponent's hands but Kid gets his hands free.

Kid is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mistique with him. Mistique is trying to defend but Kid has an arm under the chin now! Mistique grimaces and is forced to tap out!
