The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calvancante looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Calvancante persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Gracie was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Calvancante has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Calvancante!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Calvancante pulls his head out easily.

Calvancante is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well.

Calvancante tries to control Gracie's body but Gracie pushes him off. Calvancante squirms to his side and now Gracie has his back!

Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Calvancante is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now.
