Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Nicola Bruni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruni throws a body shot but no joy.
Sykes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bruni finds it's way round the side to connect with Sykes's head.

It looks like Mark Sykes has been cut.
Bruni seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Sykes throws a nice looking combination but Bruni bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sykes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sykes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bruni is looking to counter the offense by Sykes and move into the clinch.
Sykes misses with a few strikes there.

Bruni cracks Sykes with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Sykes is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Sykes is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sykes closes the distance and clinches.

Sykes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bruni ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sykes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bruni misses with a hook.
Sykes throws a push kick but Bruni slaps the foot to one side.
Bruni wants to clinch.
Sykes throws a half hearted mid kick.
Bruni fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sykes manages to avoid it.
Bruni misses with a wild combination.
Sykes blocks a jab.
Sykes moves out of range as Bruni strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sykes misses with a straight right.
Bruni throws a good cross that connects.
Bruni works the jab nicely.

Sykes is rocked!
BAM! Bruni delivers a spinning backfist that drops Sykes like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

A relieved looking Nicola Bruni thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
