Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Pitbull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitbull closes the distance and clinches up with Michaels, looking for a takedown. Pitbull pushes Michaels against the cage but Michaels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pitbull slips under a jab.
Michaels jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Michaels throws a nice inside leg kick.
Michaels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pitbull misses with a jab, cross combination.
Michaels looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Michaels throws a series of strikes that have Pitbull backpedaling.
Pitbull looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Michaels defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pitbull.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michaels lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Michaels misses with a combination
and Pitbull counters with a head kick.
Pitbull defending well as Michaels loads up on a big left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Michaels throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Michaels drops Pitbull with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pitbull looks back up at him and smiles so Michaels waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Pitbull is rocked!
Pitbull takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Oh Pitbull is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pitbull drops his hands momentarily. Michaels doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Pitbull staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Pitbull doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Karl Michaels!
