The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Penn moves away.

Penn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rose did well to prevent Penn getting side control.
Rose works his way to full guard. Good work.
Penn trying to control but Rose is working from the bottom.
Penn wants to pass the guard but Rose is keeping the position.
Penn postures up.
Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Rose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rose has an active guard here but Penn has managed to pass into half guard.
Rose has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rose turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Penn off and cradles Rose's limp body as Penn celebrates with his corner.
