Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nolan Rollins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Johnson!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rollins tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rollins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Rollins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rollins is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson is positioning himself well to prevent Rollins advancing to mount.
Johnson tries to roll over but Rollins keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson tries to kick Rollins off but Rollins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.

Rollins stops Johnson from getting back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rollins to the mat! Rollins manages to get full guard.

Rollins controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rollins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson pulls Rollins in close to prevent any damage.
Rollins won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnson looking to control but Rollins passes into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Johnson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rollins is controlling him.
Johnson wants to improve his position but instead Rollins has moved into half guard.

Johnson is looking to control Rollins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Rollins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.

Rollins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rollins shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nolan Rollins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rollins dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Rollins's head and hops out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rollins is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Rollins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rollins's guard.

Johnson wants to control but Rollins is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barry Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Johnson is looking to stall here but Rollins recovers full guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Johnson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Johnson stands and throws Rollins's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rollins sneaks back into half guard.
Johnson wants to pass to mount but Rollins is defending the position.

Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Johnson wants to control but Rollins is keeping him busy.
Rollins gets back to full guard.

Rollins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Rollins won't let him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rollins throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Johnson escapes and throws Rollins's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Rollins is not content to let Johnson control the position.

Johnson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rollins rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Johnson's guard! Nice work there by Rollins!

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rollins to the ground. Johnson is now in Rollins's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Barry Johnson.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
