Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Cosades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kabal Labak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Cosades!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kabal Labak!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Labak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cosades moves away.
Cosades tried to counter with a leg kick but Labak avoided it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Labak, as that shot connected.
Cosades takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Labak thuds a left hand into Cosades's body.
Cosades takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Cosades connects with the punch.
Cosades keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Labak.
Cosades displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Labak throws out the jab.
Cosades ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Labak throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cosades stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cosades jabs Labak to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cosades misses with a body kick.

Cosades fakes the leg kick and cracks Labak in the body.
Cosades throws a shot to the body.
Cosades has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cosades swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Charlie Cosades is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A bone on bone clash there as Labak blocks the leg kick.
Labak throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cosades misses with a looping right.
Labak tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Cosades lands with a hook. Labak tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Cosades sizes up Labak with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


It looks like Kabal Labak has been cut.

Kabal Labak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Labak rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cosades counters with a left to the body.
Cosades tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Labak tries to move into range but Cosades moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Labak is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cosades rather than just go for the knockout.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Labak throws a hook but Cosades avoids it easily.
Labak tries for a takedown but Cosades sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cosades feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Labaks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Cosades drops his hands momentarily and Labak takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cosades throws a leg kick but Labak sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Cosades throws a body shot but no joy.
Labak drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Cosades defends it well.
Labak blocks the body kick.
A swing and a miss from Labak.
Labak scores with a decent looking hook.
Cosades uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Labak.
Labak misses the shot to the body.

Cosades walks into a jab.
Cosades throws out a loose jab but Labak uses good head movement to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Labak. Cosades does a little dance to reset his feet.

Labak closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cosades looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Cosades actively working from the bottom here.

Labak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cosades looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Cosades is looking to control Labak's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cosades avoid being mounted?
Cosades regains full guard. Nicely done.

Cosades has his foot on Labak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Labak works his way back into a safe position though.

Labak trying to control the position from guard on top but Cosades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Labak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cosades is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cosades has his foot on Labak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Labak works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Labak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cosades quickly recovers to half guard.

Cosades is refusing to be controlled, as Labak sits in half guard.
Cosades wants to improve his position but Labak is controlling well.

Labak wants to control but Cosades is keeping him busy.
Labak prevents Cosades from improving his position.
Cosades has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Labak is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Labak is looking to take a break and control but Cosades is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Charlie Cosades is winning the standup battle so far.
Cosades misses with a low kick.
Labak with the counter takedown but Cosades avoids it easily.
Cosades lands a head kick. Labak smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Cosades gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Labak to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Labak stays in close to Cosades's body and controls the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Labak won't allow Cosades to sweep him here.

Cosades has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Labak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kabal Labak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Labak takes a swing at Cosades's ribcage but misses.
Cosades misses with a looping left.
Labak takes one to the chin there.
Cosades waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Labak.
Labak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cosades throws out the jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Labak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cosades sees it coming and defends easily.

Labak thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Labak is trying to control. Cosades wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cosades is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Labak pulls his head out easily.

Labak stands and throws Cosades's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Labak wants to control for a moment but Cosades uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kabal Labak.
I've got Labak winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
