And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don King!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smaug looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.
King is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Smaug drives through and clinches with King against the cage.
King misses with a hook to the ribs.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smaug creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

King misses with a short punch on the inside.
Smaug tries to work over King's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Smaug lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Smaug is trying to maintain a safe position but King gets an underhook and turns Smaug into the cage.
A head punch on the inside from King fails to land.
Smaug goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Smaug breaks from the clinch.
Smaug throws a lazy head kick
and King counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Cinder Smaug has been cut.
Smaug attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Smaug scores with a jab.
Smaug dodges the punch combination from King.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King looks to land a left hand but Smaug moved out of range nicely.
Smaug misses with a straight right.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
King throws a body punch but Smaug moves out of range.
King throws a hook but Smaug avoids it easily.
King tries to move into range but Smaug moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
King throws a nice looking combination but Smaug bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smaug connects with a high kick.


It looks like Don King has been cut.

Smaug drops King with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but King looks back up at him and smiles so Smaug waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Cinder Smaug seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King misses the shot to the body.

King uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Smaug thows a body kick. King tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Smaug clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.
Smaug lands a left hand that snaps the head of King backwards.
King fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smaug throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kings head.

King breaks the clinch.

Smaug lands a big head kick that sends King tumbling to the mat! Smaug takes a step backwards and waves King back to his feet - he wants the finish!
King throws a nice looking combination but Smaug bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smaug lands with a thumping leg kick.
King is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smaug.
Smaug comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Smaug feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends King sprawling to the canvas! King rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Smaug finish him?!


That has opened up Don King's cut even more.
Good leg kick by Smaug there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Smaug lands a big head kick that sends King tumbling to the mat! Smaug takes a step backwards and waves King back to his feet - he wants the finish!


King is rocked!
A decent looking cross lands there for King.
King is still on wobbly legs! Can Smaug finish him?
Smaug thows a body kick. King tries to catch it but that hurt him.
King seems to have recovered his senses.
Left hook, right uppercut from King.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smaug delivers a nice body kick.
Smaug keeps King at a distance using the push kick.
King looks winded!
A decent looking cross lands there for Smaug.
Smaug cracks King on the jaw with a powerful right hand and King falls backwards against the cage. Smaug follows up with more strikes that drop King to his knees. Smaug keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save King! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cinder Smaug!
Cinder Smaug retains his heavyweight title!
