Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Solis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonah Solis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dustin Ward!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward darts in and clinches Solis up against the cage.

Ward's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Solis tries to keep at a distance but Ward has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ward tries to land a knee to the head but Solis blocks with his arms.
Ward stalling.
Ward tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ward tries to throw a body punch but Solis avoids it by throwing Ward back against the cage.

Solis pulls guard.
Solis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ward trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ward stands up from Solis's guard - Ward perhaps looking for a knockout.

Solis moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Ward's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Solis jumps guard.

Ward gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Solis gets tackled into the cage by Ward. Ward maintains the clinch.

Solis pulls guard successfully.
Solis has control of Ward's left arm, preventing Ward from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ward pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Solis is keeping the position for now.
Ward trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward trying to stand up but can't free himself from Solis's guard.
Ward looking to sit in guard and control but Solis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Ward looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ward wants to stand but Solis is controlling the position.
Ward wants to hit a switch here but Solis passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ward there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Solis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ward keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ward looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Solis is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ward defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Solis throwing damaging strikes from the back! Ward could be in trouble here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Solis has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Solis controlling from the back.
Ward is in bad spot here.
Ward wants to control his opponent's hands but Solis gets his hands free.
Solis has good solid back control here.
Solis doesn't have the hooks in and Ward manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Solis wriggles free and stands up.

Ward changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Solis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonah Solis will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Ward gets a double leg takedown into Solis's guard.
Solis is looking to stand up but Ward isn't so interested in that idea.
Solis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Ward won't allow Solis to get back to his feet.
Ward wants to control from the top but Solis keeps moving.
Ward preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ward is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Solis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ward trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Solis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Solis tries to sprawl but Ward drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Ward is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Solis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ward keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Ward turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ward manages to end up in side control.

Solis throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ward shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ward was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ward is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward wants to lay and pray for a moment but Solis keeps working.
Solis manages to get back to half guard.
It looks like Ward is going to stand back up.
Ground and pound from Ward.
Solis holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Ward trying to control from half guard but Solis is working away.

Solis pushes Ward off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Solis clinches.
Ward working hard to break the clinch.

Solis jumps guard.

Solis pushes Ward off and gets back to his feet.

Solis rushes Ward and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A body shot lands from Ward.
Ward trying to land knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Ward's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Solis successfully pulls guard.
Solis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ward won't allow Solis to get back to his feet.
Ward trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom.
Solis looking for a sweep. Not yet Solis, not yet.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Solis manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Ward tries to land knees in the clinch but Solis avoids the damage to the body.
Solis has Ward pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ward manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jonah Solis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ward is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Solis's half guard.
Solis scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Ward manages to mount him!
Solis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Ward controls Solis momentarily but Solis frees himself.

Ward has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Solis doesn't defend quickly enough and Ward has managed to lock this one up! Can Solis escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ward on a fantastic submission victory.
