The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belshiknolav tries to land a front kick but Xi Jia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Belshiknolav does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Xi Jia throws a nice looking combination but Belshiknolav bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Belshiknolav looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Xi Jia clobbers Belshiknolav with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Belshiknolav chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Xi Jia can pounce on him.

Xi Jia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Belshiknolav's half guard.
Xi Jia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Xi Jia is looking to take a break and control but Belshiknolav is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Xi Jia has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Belshiknolav really doesn't like being in this position too much.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Xi Jia has hold of Belshiknolav's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Belshiknolav manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
You get the feeling that Belshiknolav really doesn't like being in this position too much.
