PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kid Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martez Cortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is (Ugly kid joe) Everything about you. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kid Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martez Cortega!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe throws a chopping leg kick but Cortega manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Cortega tries to clinch but Joe moves out of range.
Joe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cortega was well out of range. Poor timing from Joe.
A slow jab from Joe misses its intended target.
Cortega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cortega somewhat.
Cortega moves out of range as Joe strikes.
Joe seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Joe tries to clinch up but Cortega circles away and keeps his distance.

Cortega tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Joe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cortega shoots in looking for a takedown but Joe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cortega's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Joe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Joe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
