The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avreli looks to land a right hand but Chernov moved out of range.
Chernov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Avreli fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Chernov scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Avreli tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chernov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Avreli somewhat.
Chernov wants to land a leg kick but Avreli is out of range.
Avreli shoots in for a takedown but Chernov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Chernov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avreli shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Chernov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sergey Chernov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Avreli.
Avreli ducks right into an uppercut from Chernov.

It looks like Mark Avreli has been cut.
Chernov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Avreli manages to avoid it.
Avreli needs to keep his hands up - Chernov had a free shot at his head there.

Avreli tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chernov defends well and Avreli ends up having to push Chernov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Oooooh!!! Chernov has knocked Avreli down with a huge combo! Chernov steps away and waves a wobbly Avreli back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Avreli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chernov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Avreli shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Chernov wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Avreli is defended easily by Chernov.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Avreli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chernov moves away.
Chernov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Chernov thuds his right hand into Avreli's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The cut above Mark Avreli's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Chernov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Avreli doesn't manage to clinch there - Chernov circles away.
We've been told by Chernov's head coaches at Furia Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Avreli stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chernov.
Avreli moves out of range of the body kick from Chernov.
Nice defenses there by Chernov.
Avreli tries for a takedown but Chernov circles away easily
and Chernov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chernov is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Chernov forces Avreli back against the cage and clinches.
Chernov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Chernov misses with a body punch.
Avreli stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Chernov lands a left hand that snaps the head of Avreli backwards.

Mark Avreli's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Avreli lands a hook to the side of the head.
