Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fenix lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sigurdsson circles away quickly and effectively.
Sigurdsson connects with a leg kick. Fenix looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Fenix tries to clinch up.
Fenix connects with a jab.
Fenix misses with an uppercut. Sigurdsson saw that one coming.
Fenix blocks a jab.
Fenix misses with a left hand
and Sigurdsson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Fenix throws an overhand right that lands on Sigurdsson's shoulder, as Sigurdsson tries to avoid the shot.
Fenix tries to clinch there but Sigurdsson circles away.
Fenix connects with a looping right hand.
Fenix looks to score with a jab to the body but Sigurdsson is just out of range.
Sigurdsson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fenix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fenix connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fenix has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Sigurdsson looks to throw a body kick
and Fenix connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Ragnar Sigurdsson has been cut.
Fenix shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Fenix tries to keep at a distance but Sigurdsson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sigurdsson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Fenix is trying to push Sigurdsson away but Sigurdsson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

I was talking to Sigurdsson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Sigurdsson throws a head punch that misses.
Sigurdsson lands a shoulder strike.
Fenix tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sigurdsson lands a hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sigurdsson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Sigurdsson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Sigurdsson tries to work over Fenix's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

A right hook to the body lands for Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson manages to break the clinch.
Sigurdsson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fenix lands with an overhand left.

As Fenix backs away, Sigurdsson returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Sigurdsson lands with a slapping head kick.
Sigurdsson tries to clinch there but Fenix circles away.

Fenix might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Sigurdsson.
Fenix fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sigurdsson fires out a quick counter leg kick but Fenix just manages to avoid it.
Sigurdsson fakes the leg kick and cracks Fenix in the body.
Fenix sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Fenix is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sigurdsson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Fenix looks winded!

and Sigurdsson counters with a good low kick that Fenix was not able to check.
Sigurdsson lands a nice hook to Fenix's body. Fenix takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sigurdsson, right into the meat.
Fenix throws a looping overhand right but Sigurdsson ducks down to avoid it.
Sigurdsson moves into range and connects with a jab.

Sigurdsson misses with the head strike.
Sigurdsson unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Fenix! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Sigurdsson is unloading with more strikes now! Fenix drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
