The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Escobar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Maxwell's guard.
Escobar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Escobar is pushing down on Maxwell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maxwell is fighting to maintain full guard but Escobar has managed to sneak the leg through.
Escobar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Escobar wants to work for an arm triangle but Maxwell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Maxwell has worked his arm free - good work by Maxwell!
Escobar wants to stand but Maxwell has his arm trapped.

Maxwell tries to improve position but can't.
Maxwell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maxwell tries to bench press Escobar off him but Escobar keeps the position.

Escobar has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Maxwell is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Escobar yanks on the arm and Maxwell is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Escobar.
