The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Moloney feints and then cracks Marquez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marquez down.
Marquez shoots in and drives through. Moloney sprawls well.

Moloney fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marquez, pushing him back against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moloney can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marquez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Moloney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marquez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Moloney finds it's way round the side to connect with Marquez's head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Viva Marquez.
