Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harry Hate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bunaidi Pakpahan!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hate throws a head kick that misses.
Hate definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pakpahan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hate counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pakpahan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hate to keep the fight standing.
Pakpahan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A frustrated look appears on Hate's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Pakpahan has a couple of punches blocked by Hate.
Hate blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pakpahan slowing the pace effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Pakpahan gets control of Hate's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pakpahan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hate won't allow Pakpahan to sweep him here.
Pakpahan has a closed guard, preventing Hate from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hate is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pakpahan has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hate is looking to defend but Pakpahan has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hate! Pakpahan pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hate taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bunaidi Pakpahan!
After winning the bout, Bunaidi Pakpahan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
