Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terry Akki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Akki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eduardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akki clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Akki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Silva checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Silva's coach down at The Iron Palace was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silva's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Silva bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Silva throws a body kick that misses.
Silva throws a right and a left that Akki avoids nicely.
Akki dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut!
Silva throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Akki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Despite the aggression on Silva's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Akki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Silva sizes up Akki with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Eduardo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.

Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Akki tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva lands with a nice body punch.
Silva is looking to slow Akki down with leg kicks.
Akki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Silva throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Akki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Akki looks to land a body kick but Silva moved away.
Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A left lands for Silva.
Silva throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Akki wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Akki is looking to counter with a body kick.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Silva throws a hook but Akki blocks it.
Silva throws a combination. Akki tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akki manages to avoid it.
An inside leg kick lands from Silva.
Akki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Akki thinks about countering with a head kick.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Akki.
Silva has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Akki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Akki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Akki slips under a jab from Silva.

Both fighters circling a little - Akki finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Akki connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Silva needs to keep his hands up - Akki had a free shot at his head there.
Akki wants to clinch.
Silva lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Akki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva throws a right hand that Akki ducks under and follows up with a left that Akki also avoids with ease.
Akki is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Silva.
Akki wants to clinch.
Silva punishes Akki's body with a nice straight punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Akki tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Akki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Akki takes a jab right on the kisser.
Akki throws a wild body kick that Silva sees coming a mile off.
Silva waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Akki.
Good shot there by Silva.


Akki is rocked!
Akki swings widly with a right hand
and Silva scores with a counter punch that sends Akki to the canvas! Silva smells blood - he's punishing Akki with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Akki has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eduardo Silva!
Eduardo Silva was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
